Description

Shortly after establishing my new business in the state of Maryland, I received a letter from Annual Records Service during July 2025. The form 5510 claimed I needed to pay $119 by August 2025 to complete my LLC’s BOI registration and annual meeting minutes record. The form looked official and included my businesses information. It was made to seem urgent, warning about possible penalties if I didn’t respond. I did send payment by check, which did clear. I did not realize this was an illegitimate scam until January 2026, when I received a second Annual Corporate Services mailing and realized this Annual Records Services, along with Annual Corporate Services and Business Posting Department are all scams preying on and exploiting new businesses. Between the 3 scam entities, I am out $360.25 with an additional $175.27 attempted this January 2026. No phone or email was used. Address on the envelope: 1030 15th ST NW #366 Washington DC 20005-1503
