Scam information

This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.

Description

I went to google and typed in "Renew passport" and the first website that popped up was uspassportandvisa.org. I thought I was a legit website and gave all of my personal information thinking I was filling out the passport form. They emailed me a PDF which was the passport form filled out with the information that I provided. They charged $125.45 to fill out the form and send me a pdf to print and mail in. I thought I was paying for the passport renewal, but then I noticed once I received the PDF that it said to send a check or money order for the passport renewal fee. They charged to send me the form I filled out. The passport application can be filled out for free and there should not be a charge for this. The website made it seem that I was paying for the passport renewal.
