Description

Power Puppies/ Teacup Breeders said they would sell me a 12-week-old teacup Pomsky puppy for $350. The website says free home delivery within 48 hours. I inquired on their website: powerpuppiesllc.com. asking about payment options because they want paid through Zelle, Western Union, Walmart, Chime, Cash app. The "seller" (Mortiz Murphy Nathaniel) called me and said I could pay with my debit card at Walmart. It would be a Walmart-to-Walmart transfer. He then proceeded to tell me that the total would be an extra $150 for the shipping of the puppy (Dash). I told him that the website says "Free home delivery". He said it was incorrect and took off $50. So, I sent him a total of $450 through Walmart. The money was sent to Pueblo, Colorado. Once Mortiz got his money, he claimed to complete a registration & said he dropped the puppy off at the delivery agency called Global Cargo Delivery Pet Service. He also proceeded to tell me, the delivery agency said I would have to pay for a crate rental for the safe delivery of the puppies because of bad weather conditions and to be on the lookout for an email from them. When I asked Mortiz how much the crate rental was, he said he didn't know. I then got an email from the delivery agency ([email protected]) that had all my info for delivery but no information about renting a crate. I replied to the email confirming my address was correct for the delivery of the puppy. The seller then tells me via text that the delivery agency is contacting him saying that I didn't respond to the email and I need to respond to a different email: [email protected]. Once I received this email, the delivery agency wanted $1000 to rent a crate. I responded to them and told them I could buy an airline approved crate for less than $100 and I was not paying that, the website said free home delivery. In the meantime, I had been trying to reach out to the delivery agency via the phone # in the email and didn't get an answer. I even left messages. The seller kept texting me telling me that the delivery agency keeps calling him. The so-called delivery agency then started sending me generic emails in all caps saying they were going to send the puppy over to the Pets Rescue Team/ Authorities and I will be sued for pet abandonment. The email also said that I needed to make complete payment and get back with them. Their email was so generic, it didn't have any signature from the company, any methods for payment of the crate and the punctuation made me laugh. I lost a total of $450 and reported them to the FTC.
