Scam information

This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.

Description

Via text, the person said they received my information from a recruiter. I believe they got my information from job listings on LinkedIn that I clicked on. They said they were hiring for iPROMOTEu. I looked on the web and saw that this was a legitimate company. The website however said that they did not have any current openings. This made me skeptical. I, however, continued to communicate with the person via text. I noticed that they weren't sharing clear information regarding job tasks. The flexibility of the schedule and amount of pay for the work from home job sounded too good to be true. The person also never listed any specific education, skills or work experience that would be required for the position. Although, I set up an appointment for paid training, I decided to Google "iPROMOTEu job scam". That is where I found information fully describing the scam. I am now reporting the attemp to BBB. I am also going to block their number with my phone.
