I purchased a puppy from a breeder who utilized this transportation company that was supposed to deliver the puppy to my home. When the original discussion of purchase and delivery was discussed, there was no mention of any additional cost for the delivery. From the moment I received the first tracking update on 12/23/25, there was a request of a refundable security deposit of $350 to rent a crate for transport. After that, came the request for shipping insurance of $299. Then they stated that there needed to be a city permit obtained in the amount of $499. Then due to the timing, they were not able to complete the delivery process and stated that it will resume first thing in the morning of 12/24/25. But they followed up with stating they had to take the puppy to the emergency vet and the bill of $800 needed to be paid in order to release the puppy for travel. Then they required a boarding and release fee of $400. Then they came back stating that the veterinary billing was incorrect and needed an additional $700 to clear the the release of the puppy. Then due to all of these delays, they stated that their offices were now closed for the holiday and nothing would be able to be resumed until Saturday 12/27/2025, which then would require at $450 fee for boarding and care for the puppy. Then they stated the puppy had to be returned to the vet and needed a round of shots and preventatives in the amount of $575. Then the vet stated there were more issues with the puppy that needed further medical care in the amount of $1095. Once this was paid, they stated everything was good for delivery, then all of a sudden the original insurance was only good for 24hrs that was paid on 12/23/25 and that they would need $750 for an express insurance coverage in order for a full refund. Which, of course he quoted incorrectly and I needed to pay an additional $1750. They issued and updated tracking number and guaranteed delivery that night (12/27/25). About an hour after the delivery started, I received an updated that the truck was detained due to illegal transport of an animal at night by the state customs and animal services and that I was in violation of this order and needed to pay the state treasury $2500 ( I did not pay this amount). Not to mention that this so called state customs agency contacted me via the app Whatsapp, so there is nothing official about any government agency contacting people through those means.
