This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
The caller was calling to sign me up for a meeting about timeshare exits. They said their company was "CPG - Clear Point Group" and supposedly they were in Dallas, TX. They called twice - once with caller ID 234-542-5623 and next with 234-542-4840. They said they didn't have a web site. They also provided a phone number 469-383-8986. In order to identify them, I attended the presentation which was set up by a company called Tradebloc. They were signing people up to file lawsuits against timeshare companies and claimed they could get you out of your timeshare. When I asked one too many questions at the end of the presentation, and asked why they called me when my number was on the do not call registry. The guy said they can form a new LLC every year and continue to call me.
