Description
I purchased a flight ticket through the online travel agency Farera (MicroSignals Inc., farera.com). The first ticket they issued could not be used — I could not check in. The airline informed me that this ticket had been purchased using someone else’s reward points, and the original account holder cancelled the redemption, which made the ticket invalid. Farera then issued a second ticket, which I paid for normally. I was able to check in and received a boarding pass, but at the gate I was denied boarding because there was no valid e-ticket associated with the PNR (“not valid / not good ticket”). I was forced to buy a new replacement ticket at my own expense in order to travel. Farera has not refunded the second ticket, despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue. Their ticketing practices appear deceptive and unsafe for consumers, because customers believe they have a valid ticket until the moment of travel. I am submitting this report to warn others and to request that the company’s practices be reviewed.
