I thought I called the customer service line for Japan Airlines. The initial greeting was automated, similar greeting for an airline. I asked for the ability to select and pay for seats for my upcoming trip. The agent confirmed my flight info, passengers, and quoted $39 per person for seat upgrade. I then paid for the total of $234. I was put on hold to process payment but after waiting for 10 mins, I started to get a bad feeling. I then hung up and called the same number again, but it was a non-working number. I couldn't reach them again. They did however, send me an email to confirm my payment and seat reservation for Japan Airlines and charged my credit card for $234. I called my CC right away to report the fraud and decline the charge.
