They emailed me asking if I would be interested in a 'Freight Inspector' position. They claimed I applied to their company. At first, I didnt second guess it and I immediately told them I would be interested in scheduling an interview. When I was doing research on the company to better prepare for the interview, I checked Indeed and Sprout (the 2 job application sites that I have been using) and I have no record of ever applying to Northcrate Logistics. They later called me to interview even though we had yet to agree on an interview time. I asked the man how they received my application and he said Indeed. The person read off a script talking about the company and then proceeded to ask me very simple questions ("are you over the age of 18?", "do you have a printer?", "is there a package drop off near you?",...). Once he finished asking those question, he announced that he would be sending me an email about the hiring process. I was taken aback by this. This was the quickest and easiest interview I've ever had. I asked him "Is that the extent of the interviewing process?" He said yes and that all I needed to do was pass a background check. Lastly, I asked him what about my resume made me stand out as an ideal candidate. He dodged the question and basically just reiterated that i was an ideal candidate so they reached out to me. After asking a few more times he said that he wasn't sure why I was on the list. He was just given a list of potential candidates and told to reach out. I found this odd considering this is someone in HR. I found this experience incredibly fishy and I will not be in contact with them anymore.
