Claim to have been a third party coordinating between the Florida company and my mother and are charging a $98 fee made payable to CA UCC Statement Service 3053 Freeport Blvd. Box 266 Sacramento CA 95818. There are no services listed other than a payment of this fee. When I searched the company in the listing it is a Sub listing of a Texas company. Texas Tax ID: 32101540394; Business Name: Harness The Sun LLC. ; Responsibility Beginning Date: 08/07/2025; business Status: Active; Organization Type: TEXAS LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY; Record Type: Secretary of State (SOS) File Number; State of Formation: FL; SOS or COA File Number: 0806159386; SOS Charter Date: 08/07/2025; SOS Status Date: 08/07/2025; SOS Status: Active; NAICS Description: Solar electric power generation This what I found on the other party. I then searched for information on this CA UCC Statement Service and found nothing but links claiming it was a scam. Since this Texas company has only been around a couple months and its services are financial or solar in nature they could have had no business dealings with my Mother so I decided to try to send a notice to warn others. Google search for CA UCC came up with this. That address, 3053 Freeport Blvd, PO Box 268, Sacramento, CA 95818, is often associated with a common UCC Filing Scam; it's usually a mail forwarding service (like a UPS Store) used by scammers sending notices about UCC liens for loans you didn't take out, designed to trick you into paying a fee to "release" a non-existent claim. Real UCC filings go through the California Secretary of State, not this address, so if you receive such a notice, it's likely a fake; you should disregard it and contact the real CA SOS if concerned, as per this CA SOS UCC page. What to Do If You Get This Notice: Don't Pay: Ignore any requests for payment to release the lien. Verify (If Necessary): If you think it might be real (e.g., you did recently get a business loan), contact the lender directly, not the sender on the letter. Check the Real CA SOS: Visit the California Secretary of State website for official UCC information. Key Takeaway: The "CA UCC Statement Service" at that address is a known scam trying to profit from legitimate-looking but fraudulent notices, so treat it with extreme skepticism.
