There was an ad for handmade sweaters (Noemi Rose Boutique) that I saw on a news or weather website that looking appealing. I clicked on it and it showed "the sweet old lady knitting sweaters" that was described by another customer. The pictures of sweaters looked authentic, like real quality handmade sweaters (I assumed wool, but it never really specified). I ordered 3 sweaters. After a couple weeks the tracker still showed "in transit." Here's an example of one of the emails I received from "her": Hi love, By now, your sweater should have arrived, or it’s very close. I truly hope it reached you safely and brings you the warmth I knitted into it. If anything seems off, or if you need help with your order, please just contact me directly, I’m always here for you, sweetheart. Warmly, Noemi Rose P.S. If someone close to you wanted one as well, your little 20% Friends & Family code is still active: GIFT20 All of the gushy language seemed over the top and rather suspicious, and the "or it's very close" seemed strange. Here's the email I finally sent on December 11th: "On November 18 I ordered 3 sweaters (order # NOEMI4835). I paid $161.98. The tracking appeared to show that they were sent out but they have been stuck in transit for at least a couple weeks. Will they ever arrive? I always thought I would not be susceptible to scams, but I'm beginning to think I have fallen prey to one. I'm very disappointed if that is the case. I notice that the website is now closed! Will I ever see these sweaters?!" The "good news" is that a package with 3 sweaters finally arrived a month after I ordered them, but the bad news is that they are not authentic, they are 100% polyester, and the labels say "made in China." They were most certainly NOT knitted by a nice older lady living in Vermont or some other cold weather state! Returning them may be very difficult or impossible. I may keep one and give away/donate the others. They are not terrible sweaters but they were sold in a very deceptive way, and they are not what I expected or wanted. I will stick to good ol' LL Bean from now on!
