My name is Leana Andrews, and I am writing to inform of a suspected fraud incident. I am located in Vernon, Florida. On Facebook, I came across a business page named All Drive Parts Yard, where I communicated with an individual identifying himself as Douglas Smith. Mr. Smith agreed to sell me a transmission for $550, with an additional $100 shipping fee, which I sent via Apple Pay on Monday, December 15, 2025.On December 16, 2025, Mr. Smith informed me that I was required to pay an additional $300 refundable insurance fee to ship the transmission. I sent this payment as well through Apple Pay. Later that evening, after being told the package was packed and ready to ship, Mr. Smith requested another $300 for “demurrage and city permit fees.” At that point, I declined to send any additional funds and requested a refund, as I believed this transaction to be a scam. Mr. Smith has ignored my request for a refund and continues to request the additional $300. The total amount I have lost is $950. I have already reported this matter to Apple and to my bank, who advised me to file a report with Mr. Smith’s local police department, which I have done today December 17,2025.
