consumer warranty provider sends letter designed to appear as if it were authorized by my mortgage lender. letter includes fake barcode and warning at top left "official business- penalty for private use" to appear legitimate or affiliated with government. Utilizes public available information including valid mortgage lender, home address, and buyer's name. Letter is intentionally drafted to mislead the reader into thinking an existing warranty is about to expire, so an urgent plea to call is required so they can high-pressure vulnerable individuals like the elderly. at the bottom of the fine print, a disclaimer states "Not all consumers have previous coverage" and "not affiliated with your current mortgage holder" At a minimum, this is misleading and deceptive advertising.
