The scammer emailed a faked email string showing that our former owner (who has been retired for at least 20 years) had asked that they send the invoice to me directly for payment. However, the invoice was missing key company information for us in the bill to, was listing many services and descriptions that we do not purchase, was also missing any type of company logo for the company they claimed to be. I also discovered that the exact amount of the invoice was the same as another person who posted here only 5 days earlier than when I received the email. And while the company listed is a real company, the address did not match. They included a W9 for the company, also with the wrong address.
