Description
Task-based job scam using paid YouTube subscriptions Description I was contacted unsolicited on Telegram by an account using the display name “Heidi Aurora” from Lookfamed. The account showed only “UK number” with no visible digits, which is consistent with Telegram accounts using hidden or VoIP numbers. The person claimed to represent a company offering paid online tasks with earnings of $150–300 per day. The first task required subscribing to a YouTube channel and sending a screenshot as proof in order to be paid. No written contract, registered company information, or verifiable employer details were provided. This structure matches a known task-based employment scam pattern, where users are asked to perform paid social-media engagement and later pressured into further steps (often involving deposits or crypto payments). The recruiter directed me to a Linktree page described as a “client channel,” which links to multiple legitimate social-media accounts. These appear to be used as bait for paid engagement rather than evidence of a legitimate employer relationship. The concern is the recruitment method and task-based payment structure, which is commonly used in employment scams involving paid social-media engagement. Warning: Job offers requiring paid social-media actions (subscriptions, likes, screenshots) are a common scam tactic. Legitimate employers do not recruit this way. Avoid unsolicited offers promising high daily income via messaging apps, especially when no verifiable company details are provided.
