I received a voicemail from a person calling themselves " Dr. Dexter Davis, Co Board Chairman of RCA Software Systems CO.". He was angry saying that he tried to tried to call several times and nobody connected with him to post his open jobs on our job board. I called him back and left him a voicemail. He followed up by email claiming to have 9 positions open that he wanted us to recruit candidates for. Several things were fishy about his message- first, he claimed to have a company, but was using a gmail email address. Secondly, he was supposedly the chairman of the company, yet he was the person recruiting for jobs.Third, there was no website to apply to, jobs were not listed on Indeed or any other legitimate platform. He wanted candidates to "apply" by emailing him. Finally, the email contained misspellings and was formatted in an odd way. After some digging online, I saw that the company was already identified here as a potential scam, and there are several news stories in the NY/NJ area relating to "Dr. Davis". This appears to be a hiring scheme were "Dr. Davis" is looking to gain personal information such as social security numbers from people who "apply" to his "jobs".
