Description
I fell for the advertising on Instagram. Although the merchant presents itself as “Clara’s Boutique Hamptons,” suggesting a U.S.-based boutique, the business actually operates out of China. The merchant uses several deceptive tactics, including operating under multiple names (Clara’s and Claire’s), using AI-generated images and content to imply a high-end U.S. boutique, and implying domestic shipping when products are actually shipped internationally. Numerous customer complaints online cite scams, defective products, misleading guarantees, and return refusals. On the product page for the item I ordered, the merchant explicitly states a “30-Day Money-Back Guarantee.” Elsewhere on their website, they promise a “100% Money-back guarantee on eligible items — if you're not fully satisfied with your purchase, you may return it for a full refund, no questions asked.” However, after the sale, the merchant claimed my item was not “eligible,” which contradicts their own guarantee. The product is poor quality, cheaply made but they disguise this stating it's luxe, or a luxury product. They price it high then heavily discount it. Despite reporting this company to Meta, they still continue to run their advertising.
