I found the job on LinkedIn Company: SPEAC SYSTEMS INC. Position: JUNIOR DATA ENTRY OPERATOR Pay: $25/hr (during 2 week training period) $30 /hr (upon completion of training) I applied and a "JESSICA CROSBY/HR ASSISTANT FOR SPEAC SYSTEMS INC." responded VERY quickly asking to set up an interview. They sent me a link to an application assessment which only brought me to an error page on the "SPEAC" website. When I advised Jessica of the error page, she replied with an email stating there was an urgent need to fill the position, and then made me an offer of employment. I accepted the offer, and they even had an "employee portal" (https://speacsysteminc.net/careers/employeeportal/public/) and that's when they wanted to move the conversation to "Telegram". I had never heard of Telegram before this. Jessica sent me a video via Telegram, welcoming me to the company, then started telling me about how accounting will be emailing me a check that I was to deposit using my bank's mobile deposit feature. I was told that this check was for the purchasing of the license I would need to obtain for the software I would be using in the new job. I received the check, from a "BOB BRASHER, [email protected]". My bank released the funds so I followed up with Jessica and she led me step by step in completing the purchase of the license. She directed me to https://www.remotedataentryapp.org/ . Told me which plan to pick, and then explained how to take the money from the check they provided, and transfer that into bitcoin, because "Blockchain Data Management" ONLY accepts Crypto Currency. This was all a huge red flag, but upon doing research on the software company, and other details it all came back as legitimate. I told Jessica that the transaction was complete and provided the screenshots and reference #'s she had requested. The next day she let me know that they wanted me to upgrade my subscription to the annual option, which they were trying to do directly on cashapp, having some random person "Erinn Sopinsky" send me $750, which cashapp kept canceling. At this point I was getting suspicious and after a few attempts of Erinn being unsuccessful in the additional deposit, all communication stopped. All the correspondence on Telegram was erased, the check they sent me ($1,850) bounced, so I was negative that amount in my bank account.
