Description

I was contacted through LinkedIn by Eleanor who claimed to be from Volt Workforce Solutions who asked if I was interested inremote work opportunities. I said yes. The following week I was contacted by text message on my cell phone by Ivanna Petrenko from Aknr for a work from home position. Here is the verbatim text that matches an existing BBB report: —————— Our Company name is Ankr and it is California based international company specializing in app promotion marketing. We focus on improving app ratings, reviews, and visibility in app stores using our AI system. In this role as a Data Provider User, you’ll play an important part in boosting app rankings and visibility on popular platforms like the Apple App Store and Google Play. The best part? You don’t need prior experience. We provide full training to guide you every step of the way. It’s a great chance to earn while helping apps grow. You’ll help improve apps with a simple click-and-submit task on our platform. No need to download anything. Our AI system handle the optimization. You will earn two types of payments: commission and fixed salary. Here’s the breakdown: Commission: This is variable and typically ranges between $110 to $150. You can withdraw your commission daily upon completing your daily work. Fixed Salary: The total fixed salary is $6,400 for 30 working days, disbursed in four installments: $100 on the 2nd working day $800 on the 5th working day $1,500 on the 15th working day $4,000 on the 30th working day ———————- She remained persistent about starting training when I explained that I was no longer interested, stating that the work could be done part time and take less than an hour per day. This just seemed to good to be true so I researched and found a matching scam report at the BBB. Incidentally, I went back to look for the original contact message on LinkedIn and the message disappeared. Also, the person (Eleanor) and company (Volt) do not come up in searches on LinkedIn.
