Description

On October 17, 2025, I got on the Marketplace insurance website. First Health PPO made contact with me immediately. I received the call from them and spoke with Stephen Kelly. He went over the benefits and coverage for healthcare insurance his company provided. I was assured that it was healthcare insurance, not a discount plan. The coverage and price fell into my budget. I asked several questions and had no doubt it was legitimate. I was then put on hold by Stephen and his supervisor, Bill, came on the line to let me know that the coverage and benefits were top notch and I would benefit if I were to enroll before November 1st at a better price. November 1st is the national enrollment, and the coverage prices were to spike. I made the decision to enroll. They asked for SSN, home address, phone number and email address. Then I gave them my debit card number, and the initial payment was processed. I was told that I had coverage immediately and I would receive my ID cards in the mail in 7 days. In the meantime, they emailed me temporary cards. On the name of the temporary card, it says Zurich, First Health Network. Zurich individual Hospital Indemnity ID card. Limited Benefit Plan. Zurich American Insurance Company. Next to that, in bold letters, it states, THIS IS NOT A MAJOR MEDICAL INSURANCE. This is a discount plan. Several days later I had a doctor's appointment. I was asked for my insurance, and I gave them the temporary cards that were emailed to me. They tried several times to enter the information into the system. The information kept coming back invalid. I called First Health PPO back to speak with Stephen and got the run around. I explained that the information on my temp cards was invalid. The customer service rep, Mary, gave me a phone number for the doctor's office to call and that this would be fixed immediately. The doctor's office is still trying to call, and they have yet to speak to anyone. I was also sent a directory of dentists that were covered by First Health PPO. Comfort Care Dental was on the list. I called Comfort Dental to ask if they took First Health PPO insurance. Comfort Dental could not find any of the information on my temp ID card in their system. Comfort Dental asked me for the phone number and my member ID. First Health PPO told Comfort dental that I was not a member, and I do not exist in their system. I called First Health PPO immediately and waited over 30 minutes before I was hung up on. I called back several times, and I have been put on hold and hung up on, again. It has been six weeks, and I have still not received any ID cards in the mail. RED FLAGS EVERYWHERE
