Description
I saw a job posting on LinkedIn for a remote HR Assistant position so I submitted a job application. Approximately within a week I was contacted via e-Mail which outlined detailed information regarding the employment opportunity and hiring process. I replied stating that I was interested in discussing this position further. A “Veronica Pavlenko” was the name listed in the signature line sent a pdf “Interview Questionnaire” which needed to be completed by said date which in turn would be followed by a briefing interview. On the surface it appeared to be legitimate but my instincts said stop and do some detective work. There’s no address, contact number (main or direct), no company logo, website link, etc…. in her signature line just the her name, title and company name. I googled the company and it appears to have a legitimate website however, when I contacted the company phone number listed (I wanted to confirm that she was an actual employee) the recording stated “the number cannot be completed as dialed”. Also, upon further investigation I noticed that the extension of the e-Mail address used for her sending e-Mails to me was “.work”.
