This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
On November 26, 2025, I received an unsolicited email from "Banyan Health Systems" ([email protected]) regarding a Remote Cloud Support Engineer position. The email asked me to confirm my interest in the role. After confirming interest, I received a follow-up on November 27 with screening questions and was told the position paid $70/hour. I submitted my answers on December 1. On December 3, I received a "job offer" without ever participating in a phone or video interview. The offer included suspicious terms: they stated they would send me a check to purchase office equipment and software before training begins. This is a well-known fake check scam tactic where the check eventually bounces after the victim has already spent their own money. The email also requested my full name, home address, and phone number—likely for identity theft purposes. Red flags include: - The domain "banyanhealthcareers.org" appears to impersonate the legitimate Banyan Health Systems healthcare organization in South Florida - No actual interview process (only written questions) - Unsolicited check for "equipment" before employment begins - Unrealistic pay rate with full benefits - Rushed timeline from contact to offer (7 days) - Immediate request for personal information This appears to be an employment scam using fake check fraud and potentially identity theft, impersonating a legitimate healthcare organization.
