Scam Type: Phishing / Wrong-Number Social Engineering Phone Number: 619-748-9453 Carrier: T-Mobile (VoIP messaging source) Description: I received an unsolicited one-word text message (“Hey”) from this number. I do not know the sender. On the same day, multiple unknown T-Mobile numbers contacted me with the same short greeting, which matches patterns used in both employment-recruitment scams and romance/pig-butchering scams where scammers try to start a conversation before asking for money or personal information. I did not reply and I blocked the number. Actions Taken: Reported to the FTC Reported through T-Mobile’s 7726 spam reporting system Carrier-level spam report filed Warning to Others: If you receive a similar unexpected message, do not engage. These messages often lead to fake job offers or romance-based financial scams. Block the number and report it.
