Description
I was contacted by someone claiming to be from “Fin Advisors” offering a remote Graphic Designer position. The person said I was “hired” immediately after a short screening questionnaire, with no real interview or video call. They asked for my name, address, and phone number, and said HR would send “onboarding documents” and a “payment deposit” to buy home-office equipment. This matches a common remote-job scam pattern involving fake checks and equipment purchases. The job listing also disappeared after I applied, and I could not verify the company or the hiring manager. No legitimate hiring process or company portal was provided. I did not give them my SSN or bank information, and no legitimate job offer was ever verified. This appears to be a fraudulent employment scam targeting job seekers for identity theft or fake-check reimbursement schemes. What They Asked For: Name, address, phone number. They indicated they would soon request more sensitive information and send money for equipment. How They Contacted Me: Email. Website Used: fin-advisors.com Why It’s Suspicious: Immediate hire, no interview, promise of payment for equipment, job listing vanished, avoidance of verification, and communication entirely through email.
