This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
Knocked on my door at Young Mill Apartments at 5:15 pm tonight. He claimed he needed to see my Dominion Energy bill to see if there was an Solar credit on bill. He now has my name, address, email address and account number for my Dominion Energy account. I was distracted and foolishly showed him the information. My neighbor came over later and said it was a scam.
BBB Note: Please notify Dominion Energy about the issue and also change your email address. Have the rest of your information flagged with your bank, local police, and all three credit reporting agencies. Even though they do not have your social security number they have enough information to do harm to an individual and their reputation.
