We have a fireplace project and have been calling around to local fireplace businesses soliciting estimates for our job. My wife has been making the calls and emails, so I was not surprised when I received a call from a fireplace company informing me that the technician was on his way to inspect our job. I assumed my wife made this appointment and neglected to tell me. I did not catch the name of the company - the phone operator and technician both had heavy accents and were somewhat hard to understand. They called from 888-858-2696. David shows up shortly after, uses the restroom, and proceeds to inspect my fireplace. He asks if I was going to pay for a cleaning that day. That was not the job we were looking for. I refused the cleaning, asked him several questions about the services we actually wanted. He asked to use my tape measure as he did not have one on him when I asked him about measurements. He left after 15 minutes or so, promising to send me an estimate for my job.
