Description

They sent me a text message saying "Hello Lauran, I just sent you an email about Data Entry position. Please check your inbox for the next steps. Jonelle".... I then checked my email and found this in my junk folder from [email protected] that read.... "Hello Lauran, I would like to extend a heartfelt invitation for you to connect with me on Zoom at [email protected]. This meeting represents an exciting opportunity for us to kick off our discussion about the Data Entry position. I am genuinely enthusiastic about the chance to share in-depth insights into the unique qualities and core values that shape our organization. During our conversation, I’ll provide a comprehensive overview of what this role entails, including the responsibilities and opportunities that come with it. Furthermore, I encourage you to bring any questions or concerns you may have, as I am more than happy to address them and ensure you have a clear understanding moving forward. I am truly looking forward to an engaging and informative discussion that will allow us both to explore how this position aligns with your aspirations and career goals! Regards, Jonelle Wiley Gradwell Consulting" I sent responded to the text thinking at first the it was legitimate letting them know i responded to the email. Then they sent another email that said "I have just sent you an invitation for our meeting on Zoom. I'm ready to begin whenever you are, as the interview will take place in the Zoom Teamchat. Please let me know once you're ready to join!" I clicked on this link "https://s.zoom.us/c/bZllcFjIC" It brought me to a zoom chat where this was the conversation that transpired.... "Jonelle Wiley 3:02 PM Hello Lauren Jonelle Wiley 3:03 PM How are you doing today? You 3:04 PM Hi, I'm well. How are you? ? Jonelle Wiley 3:07 PM I'm well We received your resume and found it impressive. You are a strong candidate for the Data Entry/ Office Assistant position. You 3:07 PM Thank you. What did you find impressive about my resume if I may ask? Jonelle Wiley 3:09 PM HR Team reviewed it You 3:09 PM Your information is listed as Scam reported on the 20th of this month. What is your response to that? ? Jonelle Wiley 3:12 PM I am privileged to have the opportunity to introduce myself and to explore your background and experiences in greater detail. My name is Jonelle Wiley, and I hold the position of one of the hiring managers at Gradwell Consulting. Motivated by a strong dedication to delivering exceptional customer service, I strive not only to meet but also to exceed our clients' expectations, consistently working to create enriching and memorable experiences for them. During our discussion today, I look forward to providing thorough insights into the exciting position currently available while also taking the opportunity to learn about your distinct qualifications. This interview will be conducted via instant messaging to facilitate a smooth and interactive exchange. I invite you to introduce yourself and share your professional journey with me. If I conduct an interview with a candidate and later inform them that they are not a suitable match for the position, they might respond by posting negative comments about the company online. In this situation, does that reflect poorly on me, making me appear deceitful or untrustworthy? Did this candidate feel misled or suffer any financial loss as a result of our interaction? You 3:13 PM They said they never applied for a position with the company. They are in the US as am I. They got the exact same text message and email that you sent me and they did not respond or go through any interview process. Jonelle Wiley 3:16 PM What qualifies something as a scam if I've never had direct communication with the people involved? You 3:16 PM I've almost been scammed by a jake job post in the passed that used teams messaging instead of Zoom. Obviously these are both widely used applications in the business world, especially remote business. No legitimate company is going to conduct an interview over any sort of text or chat like this. Sounds like you need to get yourself a real job. Fake* I'm reporting you as well. Jonelle Wiley 3:17 PM Okay
