This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
A fake check for $9650.50 was mailed to my step-dad. The company name on the check was Ion Solar LLC. A pink flyer says he won 2nd place in the Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes; 2.5 Million dollars. Googled and found this same scam listed here. No return address on the envelop this all came, but it was mailed from San Bernardino CA. This was mailed to his old address (I used it in this report) but forwarded to his new address at a senior living facility.
