Description

I received a text message stating that I had applied for a position with Thorough Marketing LLC (the position was not stated) and asking to set up an interview during the weekend. I searched everywhere possible and could not find any record of me applying to this company; in fact, they did not exist on any of the job boards I use or have ever used while looking for employment. They have since continued to contact me via my phone number, insisting I schedule an interview with them. I recently was scammed by another "direct marketing" company in this same area (northern Virginia), which advertised an account manager position for $46,000 per year, only to reveal it was a door-to-door sales position that earned a maximum of $400 per week. I will report that company as well, but I have noticed many similarities between the two companies, and I have come to the conclusion that I believe the first company pawned off the information they had taken from me to another scam company. There is no other reasonable way for Thorough Marketing LLC to have obtained my personal information, as I have never contacted them in any way, shape, or form.
