Description
I willingly purchased products from a Shopify store called Breathe Free in November 2025 after seeing an ad on social media. I made the mistake of not reading the reviews for this company before purchasing. The company claims that their products help smokers quit the habit. I did receive the products, but they were deficient, did not work, and could not be used at all. I contacted the company via email to ask if I was doing something wrong and how to properly use the products. They never gave an explanation for why the products didn't function. I offered to ship the products back at my own expense for a full refund. They dodged this offer and proposed I accept a 20% refund instead, claiming it was difficult to return the products because the warehouse was "overseas." I responded and suggested we both compromise and do a 50% refund if they did not want me to return the merchandise. They did not accept my offer. At that point in our email correspondence, my messages to them bounced back to me, even when I tried to contact them from a different email address. I attempted to tell the company in one last effort to contact them that because they had not previously accepted my reasonable offers to settle the matter, I needed a 100% refund or I would be reporting them to the BBB and reporting their store as a fraudulent merchant to Shopify. They still did not issue a refund. Upon researching this company, there are a multitude of negative reviews claiming the merchant to be a scam. Despite the merchant's published "30-day money back guarantee," I never received a refund. They did eventually respond to my last message, asking me to "please not take action against them" but never issued the refund. The address used for this company in their marketing emails is: 26 Main Road Hockley, Essex SS5 4QS. The two names used in the email correspondence I had with them was David and Alex. The name used in their mass marketing emails is Tom. I can forward the entire email correspondence to the BBB at whichever email address you instruct me to if you wish to have it. Thank you
