Description

Texted me saying I won a free trip to the Bahamas but had to claim it by a certain day. Called on that day and was told I needed to make a payment that would basically hold my vacation and give me access to the website where I could book my vacation. I was then told that if I want to bring a guest, I would have to pay a daily fee for them I needed to confirm on the call if this was the case. I asked the woman on the line before providing my card information if this was refundable, she explained to me that it was as long as I contacted them within 30 days for the refund. About a week later, my card was charged again, this time for the payments for the second guest. After speaking with my significant other, who also “won” and him explaining to me that the vacation was not worth it, and he read many reviews with some calling at a scam. I decided that I would no longer continue with any payment or to claim the trip. I also received an alert from my bank about fraudulent activity, so I called Benson vacation directly to ask for my refund. When I called to ask for my refund, I was given the runaround and given many options besides a refund, even to the point of him telling me that he could stop all future payments and that would be it I would be fully paid up. He began asking me if I would want to trade this to someone else as in gift it to someone. I explain that I’m not interested. No, I just want my refund. Well, once he processed it or began the process to process it, he explained to me that he could only refund me for the second payment that they took off my card not the first one because the first one is what they consider a sign-up fee. There was never a mention of a sign up fee when I talked to the first lady on the phone and she was adamant about the fact that I could get my refund within 30 days. This was basically a week later and I was being told that I was not entitled to my refund because that was a sign up fee, even though I never even signed into the website And the man also said this to me on the phone “I see you haven’t signed in. Are you sure you won’t like to keep this account?” I explained this to my bank and I’m now awaiting dispute results.
