Googled passport renewal and it was the second option to show up. Didn't catch that it wasn't an official government website and filled out the information. Provided identifying information including full name, address, SSN, and credit card information. Upon completion of information entry we sent a pdf of the that said needed to to printed and mailed in to the government agency. Got an email from my credit card company that they detected fraudulent activity, so I was able to decline the transaction and get a new card, but I still entered a lot of personal identifying information.
