This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
Scammer sent mail under the guise of being ahome mortgage company, I have gotten many letters like this, and it can be traumatizing as they often claim to be bills for the mortgage, but I know I pay the mortgage regularlly. It seems as though these companies or scammers have same access as lenders to information about recent creit checks, this needs to be stopped.
