This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
Pretended to be a government website that renews passports but all it did was send me a printed passport application in the mail and printed out my 2 small photos. The website implied that it was the formal application and all fees were covered but no fees were covered and I still have to go down in person to apply. So the $188 charge was for two printed pieces of paper and two thumbnails photos printed from my submission. When I called to complain they said that it is an expensive service and it was clear on the website that it wasn’t the government website but that’s not true as when I applied it didn’t occur to me at all that it wasn’t the government’s passport renewal service (it sold itself like it was) and the high fee very much implied that it included all government fees. I believe they may have updated their site to now be more clear to avoid trouble but last month it was not clear at all and came up as number one on the google search for passport renewal. Total unethical business relying on fooling people into thinking they are renewing or applying for a passport but all they are getting is a courier service for $188 that sends printed papers to you that you can print yourself for free. Complete con and waste of precious time and money.
