Description
As someone who is looking for a job, I was notified by LinkedIn that this event assistant position in Orlando would be a good opportunity. I applied and was contacted for a fist interview with two other candidates, and then was offered a second interview later that week. The second interview was about an hour and was very convincing that this might be a great job and opportunity and a legitimate company. Something felt a little off since I couldn't find many of their employees on LinkedIn, but I honestly figured it was a start up or newer marketing firm I wasn't aware of. I ended up getting the "offer letter" (please see attached- and went to my spam folder nonetheless), and it confirmed my suspicions. Firstly, I googled them and saw a few posts about how they are a scam and have changed their name twice in a year. Secondly, after reading this offer letter, it appeared completely unprofessional and was signed by "HR" with no name attached. They also asked me to come in for "orientation" with a notebook, my social security card, and my bank's routing details. The address of this "company" was not even given to me until the "offer letter", and when I searched it, it was obvious this building had no registration in this companies name. I do believe they are there to scam younger professionals looking to get their start in events and marketing.
