I'm sure my personal information is taken because no matter how many times I change my number. There are scammers/spammers constantly stalking me/my number. All the fraudulent numbers that call me start with 1-833. Also, Bell (my mobile phone carrier) flags a bunch of non-1-833- numbers as "likely fraud." The numbers that are fraudulently calling me include 705-885-9226, 1-833-749-3721 (no name, just a number), 1-833-430-6093 (this one says they're "ROGERS"---but I'm sure it's a scam artist), etc. They do not leave a message/voicemail anymore. However, I get 2 calls a day on average by the same kind of sketchy numbers, (flagged or unflagged by Bell).
