This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
I received a package supposedly based on a credit card order. But I’ve never ordered anything from Montgomery Ward and I do not have a credit account with them. The invoice did not specify what form of credit or the last 4 digits of any card number. I’ve seen online this scam exists. At this point I think they were fishing for useful information. I’m not sure what information they actually have already.
