Description
I was contacted about a promising job offer that I was excited about. I am very technology savvy and advanced in knowing job scams when I see one- but this one was extremely believable as I had just applied for a job as a personal assistant to a different company the day prior. Not remembering the initial company I applied to, as I put in many applications that day, was my first mistake. So when I saw an email saying we accepted your job offer for personal assistant I definitely believed it and didn't question, it looked real. I began quickly responding to the emails, text messages asking for information such as relevant job experience etc, and after sending a response a number called me who was foreign and had poor/broken English. Knowing that the man he was claiming to be, Stephen Kean of Polu gallery, was a white American from Pennsylvania- this immediately threw me off. Once I googled job scam for personal assistant at polu gallery and saw that others had went through this too. Because and texts have been nonstop since then, it's like they are in a hurry to get my responses to potentially ask for my personal information etc before I have any more time to do any research and figure out what a scam this is. The email offer was from [email protected]. I will include photos in hopes that no one else falls for this. Glad I figured it out in time.
