Rec'd a message on my phone for my husband. They said there was a pending "complaint" against him. I called back once. I could not understand the name of the company in the message or when I called back. The first time I called back, she asked me the claim number and put me on hold. The call disconnected. I called the next day and a man answered. I clarified the name of the company as Ellis Well and Associates. He said he needed to verify that I was his spouse in order to talk to me. He asked me his date of birth, which I gave. He said last 4 digits of his SS#, I said it could be. I don't know that. He said it was regarding an HSBC Capital One card. Said that when he signed up for the card he agreed to no arbitration if he defaulted. Said he owed over $3,000 and began to explain that we could settle the matter out of court for a lesser amount.
