I currently complete secret shopping assignments for two companies. I was contacted via email by Jen Layton about completing a shopping assignment for her company and asked if I would be interested in the assignment. I was informed it would be a shop of the USPS concerning complaints of poor customer service. I was later contacted via text and email that the assignment instructions would be mailed to me. I was asked if I would be able to complete the assignment within the week, I agreed to do so. Once the package was received the email I reviewed the instructions, shop assessment form and check for payment enclosed. I was asked to text once received, deposit the check and begin the assignment once the funds became accessible. I deposited the check and a large portion of the funds were available right away, but I waited a full week to be sure the funds were real. Today, 11/13/2025 I received notice that the check had been returned due to insufficient funds. I have notified USPS of this current scam.
