This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
Received e-mail notice of US passport due to expire (true). Logged on to website, filled out application, downloaded photo and made payment by credit card. Received confirmation and message confirming request. Next email said problem with processing and there would be a delay. One day later received e-mail problem resolved, and my passport renewal package was being shipped. As of today, I have not received my package.
