Opened a facebook messenger pop up from a friend and computer screen turned black. Phone number was on screen to call and get help. Victim called, allowed remote control of computer, security app was installed, windows firewall was changed, supposedly removed unused stuff from computer memory. Probably was looking for information. Could have found it-we don’t know. Computer came back to life. Was told to send a check for $600 to apexbyte llc, 202 Howell mill road nw, Atlanta Georgia 30318-1732. We have Mcaffe virus protection and it quarantined a “ packet” when the screen went black. I deleted cookies and any programs downloaded that day. They are calling the person 5x a day but we ignore the calls.the phone numbers change…518-294-5791, also 254-294-5813, also 918-871-6620. We are emailed bills for $600.
