Description
I had applied for a job with Alamo Roofing on Indeed and received a response that they had filled the position, but that I should reach out to Madison Foster as they were affiliated with her somehow and she had a position available. I emailed Madison my resume and did not receive a response for approximately a week and then she emailed back providing details about the job, such as the position being full-time, $40/hr, remote, all benefits included, etc. She had asked to confirm my current employment, mailing address, and telephone number, which I provided. I then did not hear anything for another week and then she emailed saying she would go ahead and send me some work to do, to which I responded that I could not do that because of still being employed full-time elsewhere. I then received an email that regardless, I would be paid whether or not I was able to work. At this time, I reported the sender as scam. Then a week later, I receive a check in the mail for $2,000 and see that in my spam emails, there is an email from Madison noting that she sent me this check and I need to deposit it ASAP and contact her once it has been deposited. I obviosuly did not deposit the check and have shredded it. I then went ahead and blocked her email so that I should not receive any more communication from her.
