Cold call, was told I may qualify for Ontario rebate programs. It was found i qualified, the sales man started an invoice, when I questioned him I was told the bill is your copy to start the install. The rebate was paying, but I had to sign to start work, and i believed I would be billed separately for the heater because of his previous statement. I should have caught the fact they were in a hurry, bringing someone from out of town. They couldn’t come the first day they would be here the next day, they never got to my house until early evening to start the install, in conversation with the installer I found he drove from Ottawa to complete the install, on the phone I talked to someone about my qualify for the rebate and I believe we discussed the 75 dollar payment I assumed for the heater. If I was told in any of those discussions I owed the total amount I did not hear that. For a bit of proof of my astonishment, talk to the girl that called the next day about financing, and find my reaction to the total amount, by my reaction she realized I did not know the total amount before, she then informed me she would call my salesman. This was the point I realized I’d been lied to by the salesman who i asked why i was signing an invoice, and I was told the amount on the invoice was not the total because of the rebate, I believe his statement was don’t worry about that price. For the record the tankless water heater takes a lot longer to get hot water to my kitchen just to add a little salt to my wounds every time I use the taps, which I was told would not be the case
