This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
The person was impersonating a representative of Spectrum. But I have a very specific security setting on my current Spectrum internet account that anytime I get in contact with Spectrum they HAVE to ask who they are speaking to and very my name and ask for my 4 digit pin. This person had no idea who I was and when I challenged them on this topic they hung up.
