This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
I believe this is a scammer that is spoofing a local phone number. I made the mistake of answering my phone about a month ago (not from this specific number, or "company name"), and a male with what sounded like an Indian accent spoke so quickly, I could barely understand what he said, like it was some sort of practiced phrase. He said he was on a recorded line, asked for me, by name, and wanted to talk about some government services (like medicare, social security, or something like that). I simply told him he had the wrong number and hung up. After that, I get a call almost every day, from a (541) or (458) area code. I do not answer it and instead use the onboard Google screener to let them know that THEY are being recorded and that they need to state what they want. In every case, they hang up. I thought it was prudent to mention this to you, since I'm sure if someone else answers the call and talks to them, they will be scammed. Other notable phone numbers include, from the (458) area code >> 272-1760, 273-2831, 214-5752, 231-8281, 783-1085, 227-9193, and 240-9425. I could go on, but this has been the 458 numbers I've received since October 29th.
