This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
I ordered a hat online and paid for it. I received an email stating that my order #***** had been processed. This was on 10/5/25. After a few weeks, I went to the email sent by them and low and behold, unsafe website and can't go there. There is no phone # and website is gone. This was such a scam. I am on social security and what I purchased was a present for someone and now I'm out $28.60, which for me is significant.
