For the Better Business Bureau (BBB): Business Name: The Waisman Group (affiliated with Globe Life) Category: Employment / Insurance Recruiting Website/Listing Source: Indeed.com Complaint Text: My husband applied for a position advertised on Indeed as a Junior Sales Representative with The Waisman Group, which is affiliated with Globe Life. The posting stated there was a guaranteed $1,200 weekly minimum and “up to $5,600 weekly potential.” After applying, he was told he must pay a $99 upfront fee before he could start work. This was never mentioned in the job posting. When we questioned this requirement, the company’s job listing was removed from Indeed entirely. We now believe the ad was misleading and possibly fraudulent, because legitimate employers do not charge applicants to begin work and cannot legally guarantee base pay to independent contractors. We request that this company be investigated for deceptive job advertising and predatory recruiting practices so that others are not misled into paying money for a job that does not actually exist as described. ---
