Booked hotel through billabook for $1,500. We were unable to confirm our reservation with the hotel despite numerous attempts and assurances from billabook that they had made the reservation with the hotel. Eventually, as the hotel still didn’t have a record of our reservation the day before departure, we rebooked with a reputable source at a much higher price. We were provided fictitious/phony hotel booking numbers which were said to be specific to the hotel, but when we spoke to them they confirmed their booking reference numbers aren’t even in that format. This back and forth went on for about a month before we gave up. It’s a well put together scam designed to keep you guessing until the last minute.
