Description

On 09/16/25 I came across a website called zingercarparts.com. I was looking for a used engine for my truck and this website popped up almost immediately when I conducted a search for “used ford f150 engine”. The site seemed straightforward with the option to submit my info and the type of engine I needed. After submitting, I received a call from Ron who was pleasant and helpful. He said he had my engine for $600.00. The price was reasonable so I agreed to purchase it. He informed me that they only do wire transfers. This raised a bit of a red flag so I asked if he would send me a pic of the engine. He sent a pic of the requested engine still in the salvaged vehicle. He said they would pull it and send it to me. I sent the wire transfer from my bank which cost $30.00 and was frankly inconvenient. I did receive an invoice for the part via email. I inquired about which shipper was being used. They could only tell me it was a local shipper. At the time I was not alarmed and figured my engine was on the way. Over the course of a month I called snd emailed to get a status on my engine. Ron finally told me that the engine could not be located and that the shipper had stolen it? By this time I was irate and needed some resolution to this. I was then transferred to Mike the manager. He stated that they had no more used engines but they did have a rebuilt engine that was $1800.00. He said he would give me a $600.00 discount. For my trouble. That was a decent price for a rebuilt so I wired another $600.00. He said it was on its way and even gave me the shippers number. His name was Jeff. I spoke with Jeff during shipment and figured all was going well. I then got a call from Jeff saying that he could not deliver the engine and that I needed to contact Jordan the General Manager! I contacted Jordan. He stated that Mike the manager was not authorized to give that discount and that I had to pay the full 1800.00 to get the engine. So now supposedly my engine was being held hostage. He did state that he would give me 700.00 store credit on my next purchase. I was fuming… I just wanted my engine and could really care less about the 700.00 store credit. I sent another 600.00. The engine was now on its way… but wait! Jordan contacts me and says that his bank account is on hold and none of the companies funds can move. He said if I would send another $1200.00, that the bank would refund it to me in 2 days. He also said I could not get my engine until this was done. I told him I wanted to speak with the bank representative. He put us on a 3 way call with a person who I’m sure was not affiliated with the bank and has no personal skills. By this time I was resigned to the fact that I had been scammed. I did not send any more money and told Jordan, (who I’m sure has a fake name as well as everyone else I had dealt with during this elaborate scam), that I was ashamed that I had fell for this. In hindsight I wish I had been more cautious. I do feel ashamed, and with that shame comes the responsibility to let people know about these people with low moral character. Stay away from this website and NEVER use wire transfers to buy anything online. You will never get it back. 1800 dollars later I have learned my lesson.
